What Funding options are available through the Football Foundation?

This includes grants for goalposts, storage containers, portable floodlights, pavilions, 3G pitch maintenance machinery, grass pitch improvement, fencing, small-sided facility improvement, 3G pitches, creation of new grass pitches, and support from the Premier League Stadium and Defibrillator Funds.

 

Can I apply for grants to purchase goalposts for community or grassroots football?

Yes, the Football Foundation provides grants specifically for the purchase of new or replacement pairs of goalposts for use within community grassroots football. Through our supplier relationships with Harrod Sport, you can purchase new goalposts here at Turfix.

 

Are there funding options available for storage containers?

Absolutely. The Football Foundation supports a simple and cost-effective way of increasing your equipment capacity through grants for storage containers, helping to free up space within your site.

 

Are there grants for portable floodlights for training areas?

Yes, there are grants available for the purchase of new and preowned floodlights specifically designed for use on 3G and grass pitch training areas. 

 

Can I get funding for pavilion and clubhouse improvements?

Certainly. The Football Foundation offers funding for both minor and major works to improve existing changing facilities or construct new pavilions and clubhouses.

 

Is there financial support for the maintenance of 3G pitches?

Yes, grants are available to assist with the purchase of maintenance equipment required to keep 3G surfaces looking and playing at their best.

 

Can I receive funding to improve grass pitches at my facility?

Absolutely. The Football Foundation provides funding to help get your grass pitch match fit, supporting improvements to grass pitches at your facility.

 

Are there grants available for sports pitch fencing projects? 

Yes, there are grants towards ball retention systems, pest control fencing, and boundary fencing and gates to enhance the overall facilities. Unsure which one? We supply Duralock's Double Mesh Barrier - this system will fully enclose your pitch and is approved by the FA for clubs who play at Step 1-4 in The National League System (NLS).

 

Is there funding for small-sided facility improvements?

Indeed. Grants are available to build or improve the condition of small-sided artificial pitches, contributing to the enhancement of your facilities.

 

Can I get support for creating new grass pitches?

Yes, the Football Foundation provides grants to help transform unused spaces into quality grass pitches, promoting the expansion of football facilities through the PitchPower app

 

Are there specific funds from the Premier League for certain clubs?

Yes, the Premier League provides financial support through the Premier League Stadium Fund for National League System and Women's Pyramid Clubs, as well as the Premier League Defibrillator Fund for installing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at grassroots football facilities.

 

What doesn't the Football Foundation fund?

While the Football Foundation's funding approach is flexible, it does not cover facilities not available for community use, kit and equipment, projects intended for private gain, projects outside England, retrospective funding, routine maintenance and repairs resulting from wear and tear not part of a grass pitch improvement programme, and facility hire.

 

Is there funding available for rugby clubs? 

Absolutely. In addition to football funding, rugby clubs can explore various funding opportunities tailored to their needs through the RFU Grant Finder Tool, RWC Impact Facility Fund, and Sport England

 

What tools are available to help rugby clubs find suitable grants?

Rugby clubs can use the RFU Grant Finder Tool, a free-to-use grant search facility. This tool allows clubs to explore thousands of grants and loans that could provide financial support.

 

Can rugby clubs benefit from the RWC2025 Impact Facility Fund?

Yes, the RFU (Rugby Football Union) is set to deliver a transformational Rugby World Cup 2025 Impact programme between 2023 and 2027. As part of this program, there's a £7 million facility investment fund available to eligible rugby clubs.
